She truly embodies the words of Gandhi “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
She has taken that passion along with her caring hands and heart to those she serves.
D’Artra Glanton was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida in a single-parent home with hopes of one day being in the medical field. Ever since the age of five, D’Artra Glanton was always helping her family members who were born with cerebral palsy, and reading her grandmother’s nursing books she had hidden.
Adamant about doing whatever it took to be in the medical field, she made it her business to get where she is today. In 2013-2014, she attended Acumen for a one-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training course; passing the class as well as the written and skills test on the first try. Feeling accomplished, she worked as a CNA for 5 1/2 years until she applied for Concorde to become a Nurse.
During nursing school, her mother’s health took a drastic turn. D’Artra wanted to give up because she felt like her mother wanted her by her side more than the school needed her in that seat. Her mother told her that she didn’t raise a quitter to go to class and make her proud. She did just that and now has been an LPN for a little over a year. Currently, it’s time to get back out there and further her career. For some, nursing is just a job that pays the bills. To D’Artra, it’s a passion. A passion that allows her to do what she loves; helping people who can’t help themselves.
"I love being a Nurse!"
